PRSA Maryland Invites You to Get Connected – Join Our Social Networks

At 56.7 million strong Baby Boomers constitute nearly 30% of the online population according to EMarketer. Everywhere you look we’re hearing from Social Media research that all generations are involved.

In fact, online social networks offer great opportunities to connect with your peers and stay on top of the latest news from PRSA and PRSA Maryland. Whether you're interested in meeting other professionals in your area, getting sound advice or answers to a “gotta have it now” question, making new friends, sharing photos or videos, or just want to be among the first to know what's new at PRSA, online social networks provide some great ways to connect. And best of all, all of PRSA’s social networks are free!

Not sure what "social networking" means?

Online social networking involves connecting and sharing information with other people via the Internet. If you participate on any listservs or forums you have already experienced the benefits of being able to connect with peers to share ideas and exchange information. Social networking websites like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook offer different ways to interact and can help you get the most out of your PRSA membership.

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site that allows you to strengthen and extend your existing network of professional contacts. Becoming a member of PRSA Maryland’s LinkedIn group will identify you as a PRSA member and serve as proof of your credentials. With LinkedIn you can:

  • Get introduced to other professionals through the people you know
  • Establish yourself as a subject expert
  • Find potential clients
  • Make yourself available for business opportunities

To learn more and sign up for your free account, visit the LinkedIn Web site. Then join the LinkedIn group and start connecting.

Facebook allows you to create a personal profile complete with photos, links, videos and other information you may want to share with friends, colleagues and former classmates. Facebook gives you the opportunity to get to know other PRSA members on a more personal level and to interact in a more casual way. Our page on Facebook isn't all play, though—there are updates, event listings and more. Learn more at Facebook.

Twitter is a "microblogging" service that allows family, friends, and colleagues to stay connected through short messages sent via the Internet or cell phone. PRSA National (prsa & prsanews) uses Twitter to highlight new, hot information, conference updates and more. Twitter is a great way to stay on top of what's new at PRSA. To learn more and to set up your free account, go to Twitter.
