Call for Lifetime Achievement & New Professional Award Nominations
Each year PRSA MD awards two Distinctive Awards honoring the achievements of PR professionals. This year we'll honor two individuals at our Best In Maryland Awards Luncheon on October 6. Now's your opportunity to nominate the best seasoned and top new professional. But get your nominations in by Friday, July 24. Forms available on the website.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award - Nominate a public relations professional, and PRSA-MD member, who had more than 15 years of experience. The award recognizes a history of participation in PRSA or other organizations dedicated to advancement of the communications profession; effective counsel to clients and employers; and conduct consistent with the PRSA Code of Ethics. Recipients shall have contributed greatly to the practice of public relations in Maryland and shall have been active PRSA - Maryland Chapter members for five or more years though need not be members at the time of nomination. The winner receives special recognition at the Best in Maryland Awards, and the distinction of recognition for his/her accomplishments. See past winners here.
  • New Professional of the Year - Nominate an outstanding new professional (less than three years in the field) for this award, demonstrate an understanding of the principles of public relations; effectively support his/her clients' or company's communications objectives; demonstrate ethical behavior in accordance with the PRSA Code of Ethics; exhibit conduct consistent with the highest standards of professionalism when dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels of their organization. The winner receives special recognition at our Best in Maryland Award, not to mention bragging rights, and an impressive resume tidbit. See past winners here.

PRSA to Host APR Boot Camp in August - In conjunction with the New Jersey and New York Chapters, PRSA presents "APR Boot Camp," a four-day intensive training seminar for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) candidates. APR candidates will advance through the Readiness Review and take the computer-based Accreditation Examination. This seminar is designed to provide a setting that will meet the needs of busy professionals whose schedules do not permit extensive preparation time.

Wednesday, Aug. 26 (Day 1) - Readiness Review Preparation
Thursday, Aug. 27 (Day 2) and Friday, Aug. 27 (Day 3) - Computer-Based Examination Preparation

Use Facebook to Your Advantage and Find out More about Accreditation - The Universal Accreditation Board (UAB) has an Accredited in Public Relations (APR) Interest Group on Facebook, a great place to pose questions pertaining to accreditation. Warschawski Named Among Top 20 "Best Agencies to Work For" in U.S. for Eighth Consecutive Year
Warschawski has been selected as one of the top 20 "Best Agencies to Work For" in the country by The Holmes Report. Warschawski was ranked the sixth best boutique agency to work for in the country and the 18th best agency overall. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Warschawski has ranked among the top 20 best agencies and the top 10 best boutique agencies. Warschawski was the only Maryland-based firm to receive the award.

Harrison Communications Retained by CRF and Berman McAleer
Harrison Communications announced that it has been retained by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), as well as Berman McAleer, one of the Baltimore region's largest financial planning firms. Harrison Communications will manage press relations for CRF in connection with the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Conference, the largest global forum for interventional cardiology. For Berman McAleer, it will develop a marketing and media relations campaign to provide greater visibility for the firm's specialties and professionals.
