Final Submission Deadline for Best In Maryland Awards This Friday, May 7!
Be sure to submit your organization’s greatest success story for a PRSA-MD’s Best in Maryland award. But hurry because submissions must be received no later than 5 p.m. on May 7 (that’s this Friday!).

Keep in mind that 25% of entries get pushed aside, not because they aren’t creative, effective and successful, but because they’re not well presented. Check out tips from the pros for vital ideas on creating a winning entry.

Eight topics explored in Chesapeake Conference Breakout Sessions
This year’s Chesapeake Conference breakout sessions will cover everything from how to write for social media to figuring out great ROI for your PR program. The lineup includes new speakers and the topics identified by members on the last year’s conference survey. You’ll hear from:

  • Andy Malis, president, MGH – Media Fragmentation.
  • Bradley S. Shear, Esq.- Red Flags of Social Media: A Legal Perspective.
  • Lisa Miles, APR, president, Miles Public Relations – Media Ethics.
  • Marci DeVries, president, MDV Interactive; David Harrison, president, Harrison Communications – Writing for the web and social media.
  • David Warschawski, president, Warschawski – Great ROI for a Lousy Economy
  • Jiyan Wei, Vocus director, product management and vendor council at Society for New Communications Research – Writing with Search Engines in Mind: Making SEO Work.
  • Steve Radick, Social Media Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, expert blogger, PRNews’ 15 to Watch – Social Media an Hour a Day.
  • PR Measurement on a Budget - Confirming speaker, check back

In addition to these great breakout sessions, you’ll hear from two great keynotes, and attend one of two great panels (APR or media pitching). You’ll also get to discuss the entire day over happy hour and still get home in time to fix dinner!

The 33rd Annual Chesapeake Conference takes place on June 17 at the Sheraton Baltimore North in Towson. For a sneak peak at the full agenda, click here. For details and registration, click here.
