14 - Putting Social Media into your PR Strategy In
Part I of the Social Media Series on April 23, PRSA-MD took a hands-on
look at Twitter. Part II will focus on how to mount a successful social
media campaign. Shawn Draper, VP/Partner at IMRE, will lead a panel
discussion, exploring case studies and pointing out challenges, opportunities,

A
great way to take advantage of PRSA-MD's social networking sites is
to continue (or join) the discussions generated during the monthly meetings.
Regardless of whether or not you attended the April event, you can join

Changing
PR Landscape Topic for June Event Industry
leaders from the Obama Campaign, the Red Cross, and the Association
for Financial Professionals will participate in a panel discussion led
by David Harrison, President, Harrison Communications, at PRSA-MD's
June 18 event. The conversation will focus on how these organizations
have successfully negotiated the rapidly changing public relations landscape. Joining
David, are Emily
Williams, an interactive account executive who took a leave of absence
from MSHC Partners to direct much of the Obama campaign's online efforts
in 2008; Wendy
Harman, director of Social Media, American Red Cross; and Billy Treger,
Communications Manager, Association for Financial Professionals. Each
will share their strategies, successes and challenges. Get the full

Members who join PRSA during April will also receive a free one-year
membership to the National New Professionals section (a $20 value) with

PRSA Health Academy Conference Reminder PRSA
professionals in the health industry, don't forget! The PRSA Health
Academy's 2009 annual conference will be held in Washington, D.C. May
13-15. This year's theme is "Leveraging Social Media in Health
Care Public Relations: Innovations & Strategies for Enhanced Consumer

was recently awarded a contract to promote Indiana 811, the state's
call-before-you-dig notification center.
Warschawski
has been named the U.S. agency of record for Innovation Norway, the
country's tourism organization. Warschawski worked with the state-owned
tourism agency last year on a campaign to raise awareness about the
country's lifestyle and tourist attractions.
