Learn
What Social Media Tagging Can Do For You
How is the tagging of content online related to the PR Industry? If
you hear “tags” and think that you forgot to take the price tags off
your new shirt, or if you hear "delicious" and think "yum!",
then this session is for you!
Join PR
Newswire Global Director of Emerging Media Michael Pranikoff as he describes
how tags are used for all kinds of content online, such as descriptors
for text, photos and images, as well as creative tags for SEO. You'll
also learn!
- Where
tagging does and doesn't work
- How
tagging is related to Search
- What
are the most effective ways of tagging for PR professionals
- Why
to tag in Delicious, Digg, Flickr, Your Website, Releases, and more...
We cannot
stress enough that this is not a sales pitch! Michael will be talking
to us about tagging, not PR Newswire. His purpose will be to talk us
through some insights, tips, and tactics in using tagging online content
to aid our PR efforts.

Seeks Leaders to Advance the Society and the Profession
The PRSA Nominating Committee has begun its annual process
of recruiting candidates for PRSA 2011 officers, directors and Leadership
Assembly delegates. The Nominating Committee encourages members
to consider these leadership opportunities, or talk to other leaders
who they think would make excellent candidates and encourage them to
submit an application. The positions are open to all interested and
qualified candidates. Detailed information and applications are available
on-line
and via specially scheduled teleconferences conducted by current PRSA
leaders (see Process
Timetable.pdf for more information). Comment letters on candidates
can supplement applications (see Comment
Letters.pdf). The application deadline is June 14.
The Nominating
Committee will review applications and supporting documents, and will
interview candidates when it convenes July 30-August 1 in Chicago. Final
selections will be presented for a vote by the Leadership Assembly in
Washington, D.C., on Oct. 16. For questions about the nomination process,
contact Donna Jonas at PRSA headquarters at (212) 460-1403, or send
