Spotlight
THURSDAY,
NOVEMBER 19: How to Develop A Social Media Strategy
Don't miss PRSA-MD's final event of 2009 as Sean Carton, chief creative
officer of idfive,
presents a practical, 10-step framework that you can use with your clients
(or your own company) to develop a comprehensive, intelligent, and reality-based
social media strategy that fits into your overall communications plan
and gets results. Sean will dispel some common myths about social media
strategies and explain how to leverage these new technologies to engage
customers, build sales, and find prospects.
As the
founder of one of Baltimore's first Web development firms in 1995, the
founding dean of the School of Design and Media at Philadelphia University,
and the co-author of one of the first books about the Web ("The
Mosaic Quick Tour" series, 1993), Sean has over 12 years of experience
designing, developing, planning and executing interactive media. Read
more about Sean including his bio,
his list of published
books, and his blog AttentionScan.

To Offer APR Prep Classes
PRSA-MD will be forming an APR candidate
preparation program early in 2010 to help members interested in receiving
their APR prepare for accreditation. Specifically, the program will
address the APR process, test-taking techniques and portfolio tips.
We plan to offer the classes at a physical location with a GoTo meeting
connection for those who cannot attend in person.
Several
members of our chapter have already expressed interest. If you're interested,
please send an email to tracyimm@comcast.net.
Look for more details about the program in upcoming issues of WebNotes
and on www.prsamd.org.
