The winners of the 2009 Best in Maryland Awards competition were announced during the 32nd Annual Maryland Chesapeake Conference, held Oct. 6 at the Sheraton Baltimore North in Towson. The chapter awards recognize outstanding achievement in public relations using classic and new media. Share your PR Experiences with Aspiring PR Professionals
Do you have an hour or so to talk to aspiring PR professionals? Then the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) needs your help! CCBC has an Associate Degree in PR program, but students are having a tough time figuring out their career options. That's where PRSA-MD comes in! CCBC is hosting Careers in PR Day in early November so that PR professionals can come on campus to talk to students about what it is they do. We'd love to help CCBC in this regard, but we need you! All it takes is an hour of your time plus travel to plant the seed of PR in a young student's mind. We're looking for a broad array of professionals so that CCBC students can get a true sense of the depth and breadth of opportunities. New PR professionals would be great because CCBC students may really relate individuals with less than three years in the field. PR folks are always talking, but rarely do they get the opportunity to talk about themselves. If you're truly committed to PRSA's mission of advancing PR, contact Chris Carbone at carbone.cj@gmail.com or 410.615.0973 today and ask for more information about CCBC's Careers in PR Day. Talk to students about how you entered the business and why you stay in the business, and the love for PR that you may ignite (or reignite) may be your own.
