Resources & Tools for Public Affairs Success
Join us for full-day learning event, hosted by PRSA Maryland Member Dan Dunne of Erickson Living at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel on Thursday, September 29, 2011.
The day includes two exciting panels looking at the role of social media in crisis communication and today’s newsroom, as well as, hands-on workshops on Twitter and LinkedIn. You’ll also hear the State of News Media from Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism. It all kicks off at 8am with a continental breakfast and networking. The day wraps up at 5pm with an optional invitation to join Erickson Living for a networking dinner at McCormick & Schmick’s Restaurant (additional fee req’d).
You’ll leave with:
- An understanding of how social media can be both a good and a challenging part of crisis communications and how to use it more effectively.
- Valuable information on the health and status of the American news media with a focus on eight major sectors of media – this will help you sharpen your media outreach.
- Inside information from key newsrooms in and around the area.
- Sharpened skills on two of the more popular social media sites: Twitter and LinkedIn.
- New contacts that you can tap throughout the year.
