The Ingredients of a Successful Feature – Thursday, March 9, 2006
Johns Hopkins University Downtown Center

Newsrooms get press releases by the hundreds; most are tossed before they're read. Features stand out, because they present information in a concise package. When done right, they can be used any time an editor needs copy.

Join Steven Gosset, Editorial Manager, Feature News Service at PR Newswire for an interactive workshop to learn successful feature-writing strategies from a pro. Among the information he’ll cover:

  • The ingredients of a successful feature
  • Current trends in the media marketplace that present opportunities for feature placement
  • The best ways to contact and pitch journalists

Be sure to bring copies of your own features! Mr. Gosset will be available following the program to provide one-on-one feedback. You’ll also receive a feature-writing guide that reinforces the workshop topics.
