The Conference Committee is tasked with planning the PRSA Maryland annual Conference (formally the Chesapeake Conference) which occurs in June. Some of the duties include setting the program, finding speakers, coordinating logistics, designing collateral materials, creating publicity, and securing sponsorships. The Committee is broken down into sub-committees so you can choose to work on just one project or many. The APR Committee works to provide all training necessary for applicants to successfully obtain the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential. This involves providing study resources, mentoring, and coaching as well as guiding applicants through the APR Exam and Readiness Review processes. The BIM Committee is tasked with (1) planning and executing the Call for Entries, which includes working with another PRSA chapter for judging, and (2) planning the Best in Maryland Gala, which includes all aspects of event planning. The Committee consists of sub-committees so you can choose to work on just one project or many. The Communications Committee authors PRSA Maryland’s eNewsletter, WebNotes. Additionally, the Communications Committee is responsible for promoting the Maryland Chapter’s events, making posts to the PRSA Maryland blog, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn websites. The Mentoring Committee administers our Mentoring Continuum Program, which matches members who want to be mentored with those who desire to mentor other members. New Professionals Committee
The New Professionals Committee organizes networking opportunities for local PR professionals who have less than five years of experience. They also work with our local PRSSA student chapters to get them involved with the Maryland Chapter of PRSA, generating networking events and career enhancing opportunities. The Programming Committee is tasked with developing relevant, stimulating professional training and development opportunities for all members. Some of the duties include creating topics for seminars/webinars as well as finding/coordinating speakers and venues. The Sponsorship Committee works to secure annual and event specific sponsorships to benefit the Maryland Chapter.
