Maryland Chapter News: APR Study Group forming soon.

PRSA Maryland will be forming an APR Candidate Group for those interested in pursuing their APR in the coming year. In 2015, three members of the candidate group successfully attained their APR and others, including our 2016 Candidate Group, are continuing to work toward the designation. The group is designed to provide interested  candidates with:

  • A clear understanding of the process from application through testing
  • Guidance for preparing for both the Readiness Review and the exam
  • An opportunity to talk with mentor APRs who have been through the process
  • A forum for dialoguing with other candidates and supporting one another

Study Groups consist of four sessions with both in-person and virtual  participation options. Exact locations and dial-in information will be disseminated to those who express interest via email.

Session 1 – Kickoff Meeting/APR Process Deep Dive
Session 2 – APR Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Overview
Session 3 – Readiness Review Portfolio Presentation Prep Session
Session 4 – Meeting with Mentors/Readiness Review Dry Run Breakout Sessions / No virtual option

Following the initial four meetings, we will hold brief monthly calls as needed to touch base on everyone’s progress.

PRSA MD members who are interested in pursuing accreditation and candidates who are ready to take the next step and schedule a Readiness Review should contact Jennifer Kellar, APR, at jennifer.kellar@aecom.com.

There is no fee for these sessions. They are an added value of PRSA Maryland Chapter membership. Candidates must have a current chapter membership.
