What the day was like …
We started the day with a networking breakfast followed by morning keynote speaker Sherry Llewellyn, Director of Public Affairs for Howard County Police Department, who discussed the changing face of media; benefits and obstacles in social media; using social media in a crisis like the Columbia Mall shooting; being the news source in a crisis situation; and how to integrate social media into a traditional media strategy. We ended the day with a keynote from Michelle Andres, Vice President of Digital Media & Broadcasting and Chad Steele, Vice President of Public Relations for the Baltimore Ravens, who talked about social media and online marketing, and how that ties with public relations activities.
