Formed in 1961, the Maryland Chapter of the PRSA serves to bring together public relations professionals in the Central Maryland area.

Governance of the Maryland Chapter is by a local board of directors made up of persons who hold the offices of president, president-elect, immediate past president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, directors at large, and chairs of the chapter's standing committees.

The Maryland Chapter is one of 10 chapters in PRSA's Mid-Atlantic District.

The Public Relations Society of America (www.prsa.org), headquartered in New York City, is the world's largest professional organization for public relations professionals, with nearly 20,000 members, organized into 117 Chapters nationwide, who represent business and industry, counseling firms, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional services firms and nonprofit organizations.
